To feel meaningful is to feel immortal.

We all want to live meaningful lives — and, for good reason. Research suggests that having a sense of meaning or purpose in our lives can make us more resilient, improve aging, and reduce risk of mental illness and mortality.

It’s no surprise then that the concept of ‘brand purpose’ has become so commonplace. As humans search for meaning, brands can help fill the void, transforming mundane actions into values-affirming experiences.

Unfortunately — facing pressure to get on board with brand purpose or get left behind — many brand leaders get it wrong.

To successfully position your brand for deeper meaning, it takes more than just a sexy slogan or clever campaign idea.

It requires careful planning and execution — under the guidance of an experienced brand leader who can help you avoid common pitfalls, capitalize on key opportunities, strengthen core strategies, and improve business outcomes.

“People know their lives are brief and so we endeavor to be part of something that transcends biological existence...

Studies find that when people are exposed to stimuli that remind them of their mortality, they exhibit increased investment in the social and cultural identities that provide meaning.”
